What is BioSpoke Material?
BioSpoke Material is a biodegradable composite made from reclaimed natural textile fibers and algae-derived binders. We transform discarded natural fabrics into durable, flexible sheets that can be shaped and finished across multiple industries.
Our work sits at the intersection of textile recovery and biomaterial development. Fashion is our first application, but the material itself is a platform.
02 — How It's Made
A five-step material journey.

Reclaimed Natural Textiles
Discarded natural-fiber fabrics, deadstock, and post-industrial offcuts are recovered before they reach landfill.

Fiber Processing
Textiles are sorted, cleaned, and broken down into a soft, workable fiber base.
- 03
Algae-Based Binder
Cultivated algae are prepared into a natural binder — a plant-derived alternative to synthetic resins.

Composite Material Formation
Fibers and binder are combined, pressed, and dried into flexible composite sheets.

Finished Applications
Sheets are hand-finished in our Detroit studio and shaped into objects, samples, and custom formats.
